The world of philanthropy is changing as a new generation of Donors changes the rules. The March 9th edition of the Wall Street Journal reports:
“The new crop of philanthropists is looking to do more with less. They are focusing on smaller start-up organizations and looking for ways to leverage their gifts.”
Smaller foundations offer donors the opportunity evaluate their charitable investment in a meaningful way. “In many cases, there is also a shifting of dollars away from large established charities to smaller ones that allow donors to better see how each dollar is spent and measure the results.” The days of the large corporate foundation with little donor transparency may be a thing of the past.
The entire Wall Street Journal article can be found here. The Jack Miller Center remains committed to “Donor Intent” through transparent operations and donor involvement.
