The United States Constitution was signed on September 17, 1787, and in honor of that day in American history, the Political Science Department at Assumption University hosts an annual Constitution Day lecture on or near the anniversary. This year, they will welcome Dr. Matthew Spalding, dean of the Van Andel Graduate School of Government at Hillsdale College, to speak about his new book, The Making of the American Mind: The Story of Our Declaration of Independence. The official response will be from Noah Laren ’24. This event will be held on Wednesday, September 23, at 5:00 p.m. in the Curtis Performance Hall.

This event is part of Assumption’s year-long series celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, Striving for Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness.
