Shanaysha Sauls Appointed CEO of Baltimore Community Foundation
JMC fellow Shanaysha Sauls was appointed CEO of the Baltimore Community Foundation (BCF). BCF facilitates philanthropic giving by equipping donors to invest strategically in the Baltimore community and bringing the public and private sectors together to strengthen Baltimore. Sauls is the first woman and racial minority to serve as CEO of BCF.

Shanaysha Sauls’ experiences span a variety of occupations. Prior to her appointment as CEO to BCF, she served as CEO of the the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women. She also served as a founding board member of the Downtown Baltimore Family Alliance and Patterson Park Public Charter School. Additionally, Sauls has worked as an educator at the collegiate and high school level. At American University, she taught political theory, and she taught English to high school students in the Baltimore area.
