Marc Landy is Professor of Political Science at Boston College. Landy has a B.A. from Oberlin College and a Ph.D. in Government from Harvard University. He was the recipient of the 2009 Teaching Award chosen by the student members of the Boston College Chapter of Phi Beta Kappa. His most recent book, co-authored with Dennis Hale, is Keeping the Republic: A Defense of American Constitutionalism (Kansas U Press, 2025). He is the author of American Government: Enduring Principles, Critical Choices (Cambridge University Press. 4th edition, 2019). He and Sidney Milkis wrote Presidential Greatness (Kansas U. Press, 2000). Among others, his most recent articles include “The Most Dangerous Branch” (Claremont Review of Books), “Democrats Search Their Souls” (National Affairs), “Taming the Modern” (National Affairs), “Blaming the Ref: A Review Essay” (Claremont Review of Books), “How the Constitution Unifies the Country: Review Essay” (Law and Liberty), and “The Presidency in History, Leading from the the Eye of the Storm” (in The Presidency and the Political System).
