Words that Changed the World: America at 250

As we approach the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, how do we ensure America’s students have the opportunity to learn about the ideas and history that forged a nation and set the world on a new path to freedom?

Set against the backdrop of historic Philadelphia, the birthplace of the Declaration of Independence, the 2026 National Summit on Civic Education will welcome educators, funders, and civil society leaders for invigorating conversation on the “Words that Changed the World”.

Highlights include a moving naturalization ceremony for thirteen new U.S. citizens, lunch featuring renowned columnist Peggy Noonan, dinner and keynote address from a distinguished national figure (to be announced soon), and shark-tank style presentations on some of the most catalytic projects in civic education.
