Professional Development for Teachers at Ole Miss: Reading America’s Founding Documents
The Declaration of Independence Center for the Study of American Freedom at the University of Mississippi, with the support of the Jack Miller Center, is hosting a two-day program for social studies teachers on understanding and teaching America’s founding documents.
This program will guide teachers through key American founding documents, including the Declaration of Independence, the Articles of Confederation, and the Constitution. Through scholar-facilitated discussions of these and related primary sources, teachers will examine and better understand the philosophical, political, and historical contextualization of each founding document, as well as their significance.
Participants will receive a $200 stipend for completion of the program.
