Self Evident Truths in a Polarized Age with Gregory Weiner
JMC Academic Council Member and Fellow Gregory Weiner will give a presentation on civic friendship at City College of New York on April 29 at 3:30pm.
President of Assumption University and JMC Academic Advisory Council member, Dr. Weiner, will draw on his scholarship in American political thought and his work on Senator Moynihan’s intellectual legacy to address how democratic communities can pursue truth while maintaining the civic bonds—what he terms “civic friendship”—essential to democratic governance. As author of American Burke: The Uncommon Liberalism of Daniel Patrick Moynihan, Dr. Weiner pairs expertise in the practical challenges of democratic leadership with a deep familiarity with our Center’s namesake.
