Wisconsin Civic Educators Summit: The Constitution and American Self-Government
This one-day summit is hosted in partnership between the Jack Miller Center, Sphere Education Initiatives, and the Universities of Wisconsin Office of Civic Engagement.
This summit will provide an opportunity for Wisconsin social studies teachers and curriculum leaders to explore the enduring significance of the United States Constitution and its role in American self-government. Participants will examine how constitutional principles shaped the American founding, consider how those principles continue to influence contemporary civic life, and share effective strategies for teaching constitutional government in today’s classrooms. JMC scholar Raul Rodriguez will also deliver a keynote address exploring the relationship between the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution.
The summit will be held on Saturday, October 24 from 9:30 am – 4 pm in Green Bay. Breakfast and lunch will be provided, and participants will receive a $150 stipend upon completion of the program.
