Andrea Radasanu

Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the University Honors Program, Northern Illinois University

Andrea Radasanu is Associate Professor of Political Science at Northern Illinois University, specializing in the history of political thought with particular emphasis on Montesquieu and the classical foundations of international relations. Her scholarship examines the relationship between moderation, constitutionalism, and global power politics, and she has published on Montesquieu’s contributions to modern understandings of empire, security, and diplomacy.

For the past seven years, Radasanu has directed NIU’s University Honors Program and now also oversees a broader portfolio of student enhancement units that support career readiness, experiential learning, and high-impact educational opportunities. She remains committed to integrating serious political theory with civic and global engagement, helping students connect enduring questions of political life to contemporary international challenges.
