Andrew Carico, Ph.D.

Senior Fellow for K-12 Civic Education

Andrew D. Carico serves as the Jack Miller Center’s Senior Fellow for K-12 Civic Education. In this role, he provides support and training for the JMC’s programs that advance teacher education in American history, political and economic institutions, and the central principles and issues that animate our national life.

Andrew is also the Coordinator for the American Classical Lyceum at John Adams Academy, a classical charter school in Northern California. In this capacity, he teaches and develops teacher-training programming. He previously served as Headmaster of the TK-12 John Adams Academy, El Dorado Hills campus, from 2021 to 2024. Prior to his work in TK–12 classical education, Andrew spent nearly a decade in higher education, most recently as an Associate Professor at William Jessup University.

Andrew earned his Ph.D. in Political Science from Claremont Graduate University, with an emphasis in political philosophy and American politics. His written work has appeared in publications such as Public Discourse, The Claremont Review of Books, RealClear Education, Law & Liberty, and Starting Points Journal, amongst others. He is also a 2014 Jack Miller Fellow. Andrew and his wife, Allie, have two children.
