2026 Colleen A. Sheehan Constitution Day Address: Higher Education Reform and the Constitution Under Trump

Steven F. McGuire will give the 2026 Colleen A. Sheehan Constitution Day Address titled, “Higher Education Reform and the Constitution under Trump,” hosted by the Matthew J. Ryan Center at Villanova University on October 7.

Dr. McGuire’s talk will examine the changing landscape of American higher education under the Trump administration, with particular attention to questions of constitutional authority, academic freedom, and the proper role of government in higher education. Drawing on his work, he will consider what recent reforms mean for colleges and universities and the constitutional principles that govern them. Q & A will follow his talk.
