Democracy and Capitalism Teachers Institute
The Jack Miller Center is partnering with the Democracy & Capitalism Lab at the University of Virginia on a week-long professional development program for high school social studies teachers.
Participants will stay on the University Grounds in Charlottesville for one week and participate in daily programming focused on democracy, capitalism, and pressing issues at their intersection. The program will feature scholar-led academic sessions, as well as primary source workshops and an introduction to the case study method.
The institute is open to high school teachers nationwide. Lodging and most meals will be provided, and reimbursement will be offered for travel expenses. Participants will receive a $500 stipend for completion of the institute.
The deadline to apply is February 1.
