M.A. in Constitutional Government, Civics, and Law

The Master of Arts in Constitutional Government, Civics & Law (MACGCL) at Utah Valley University is offered by the Center for Constitutional Studies through the School of Education. 

With support from the John Templeton Foundation, the Jack Miller Center is partnering with UVU to grow MACGCL’s National Cohort through our Graduate Consortium. This specially designed teaching track offers working educators a virtual, flexible, and affordable path to a master’s degree. Students in the National Cohort are only required to meet for one week of in-person class in Utah, with financial support offered for travel costs. Other highlights include:

• Jack Miller Center Scholarships that cover 100% of tuition for 5 working teachers and 50% of tuition for 10 working teachers (more details below!)

• Pre-approved credit transfer of up to 10 elective credits from previous courses taken through the JMC Graduate Consortium 

• Livestream classes during the summer semester and evening livestream and asynchronous online classes during the fall and spring semesters 

• Completion in as few as 14 months 

• Optional summer domestic study experience during the second summer of coursework 

Jack Miller Center Scholarships at Utah Valley University

The Jack Miller Center funds five full-ride scholarships and ten half-ride scholarships to students admitted to the UVU MACGCL National Cohort. Students may apply for these scholarships after they have accepted their admissions offer from UVU and created an official account with the university.  

The scholarships are administered by UVU, and admitted students to the National Cohort will receive application requirements and submission instructions from the university. 

Eligibility:  

• Must be admitted to the National Cohort in either the early admission or general admission pool.  

• Applicants must adhere to professional K-12 teaching obligation. 

• Waitlisted applicants will generally not be eligible for the scholarship. 

Important Dates:  

• The Jack Miller Center Scholarship applications will be open from March 5th to March 20th, 2027.
