The Jack Miller Center announces its 2026 cohort of Jack Miller Fellows

Philadelphia, PA – August 6, 2026 The Jack Miller Center has announced its 2026 class of Jack Miller Fellows, including 23 graduate students and young faculty from 19 universities across the country.

Since 2004, the Jack Miller Fellowship has brought together a community of rising scholars who have committed their careers to teaching the ideas and documents of the American political tradition. Our hundreds of fellowship alumni include many of the top American civics scholars in the nation. The fellowship begins with a rigorous two-week summer institute in which the new cohort sharpens their understanding of American political thought and history and builds a rich professional network to further their intellectual growth.

In honor of America’s 250th anniversary, this year’s cohort of fellows were immersed in the historic setting of Charlottesville, Virginia, studying and socializing at the University of Virginia grounds and Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello.

“Literally every single lecture during the summer institute gave me ideas that I’ll incorporate into my classroom,” said new fellow Anna Vincenzi. “I so appreciated the time working through primary sources with senior scholars. They gave us such a wonderful model of how to approach these texts and teach them with care.”

Behind the Jack Miller Fellows

The Jack Miller Fellowship is widely recognized as one of the premier programs for identifying, training, and supporting emerging scholars of the American political tradition.

This year’s Summer Institute was held from July 20-31 on the University of Virginia grounds in Charlottesville, Virginia. Reflecting the semiquincentennial, the theme was “The American Revolution at 250.” Stimulating seminars and workshops were offered with leading scholars in their fields, including:

By participating in the Summer Institute, Jack Miller Fellows gain ongoing networking opportunities, support for their leadership in new campus programs and events, and invaluable research assistance.

The Jack Miller Center, founded in 2007, is a Philadelphia-based educational nonprofit committed to solving the national crisis of uninformed citizenship by teaching America’s founding principles and history. In addition to Summer Institutes and the Jack Miller Fellowship program within the American Political Tradition Project, JMC also directs the Founding Civics Initiative to revitalize K-12 civic education and an annual National Summit on Civic Education.
