JMC Academic Council Member Jeremy Bailey will give a lecture entitled “Native Nations and Assimilation in Jefferson’s Lost Constitution of 1804” on September 17th for a Constitution Day lecture at Emory University. Bailey will explore the ideas behind his book, “The Other Declarations.” Looking beyond the Declaration of Independence, Bailey examines the lesser-known writings through which Thomas Jefferson grappled with some of the most enduring challenges in American democracy and questions that remain relevant today.
